Policies enacted during COVID-19 came with unintended health benefits: why go back?

OBJECTIVES: To explore the impact of COVID-19 on the implementation of bundled interventions to improve the engagement and retention of Black women in HIV care. METHODS: Pre-implementation interviews conducted between January and April 202 L with 12 demonstration sites implementing bundled interventions for Black women with HIV. Directed content analysis was employed to examine the site interview transcripts. RESULTS: The pandemic intensified barriers to care and harmful social conditions. However, COVID-19 also forced pivots in health care and social service delivery and some of these changes benefited Black women living with HIV. CONCLUSIONS: The continuation of policies that support the material needs of Black women with HIV and ease access to care is critical. Racial capitalism impedes the enactment of these policies and thus threatens public health.

G20 entrepreneurship services report

This book focuses on the progress of G20 members on entrepreneurship services since the G20 Entrepreneurship Action Plan was issued at the G20 Hangzhou Summit in China. The authors analyse the similarities and differences of policy measures taken by G20 members from five aspects of entrepreneurship services: government services, fiscal and financial supports, entrepreneur services, entrepreneurship education, and fair competition for SMEs. The book aims to bridge academic research with the multilevel and diverse practice in entrepreneurial activities and explores how national policies and conditions can promote entrepreneurship among G20 members. This book will inspire the policy- makers, stakeholders in the entrepreneurship ecosystems and scholars on entrepreneurship research as well, on how to promote the entrepreneurship as an effective way to stimulate employment growth, boost innovation development, and realize economic recovery in the post- COVID-19 era. © Tsinghua University Press 2022. A Review of Factors Influencing the Adoption of Electric Vehicles in the World

The road transport sector has a direct effect on fossil energy sources, cost, and consumption. Indeed, it has affected the environmental situation reversely with high carbon dioxide emissions. Due to this negative impact, the transition to electric vehicle (EV) technology must be a mandatory target for governments worldwide. To achieve this objective, many countries have developed various policies to promote EV technology buying or retrofitting. Thanks to the adopted policies, the electric technology market share has been growing. Meanwhile, research studies are involved also in this project by studying the benefit of EV technology low total cost of ownership (TCO) to motivate consumers of its utilization. For that purpose, the present paper aims to review the discussed policies, and methods to boost the diffusion of electric technology as a sustainable and reliable solution to overcome the global energy situation despite the different obstacles, barriers, and the pandemic situation (COVID-19), which has affected the consumer economic and social behavior. © 2022 IEEE.

How to become a successful scientist: the 2022 CSMB Arthur Wynne Gold Medal Lecture.

There are many pathways to success. Mine followed a traditional one to an academic faculty position, but this pathway is not the one most life sciences PhD graduates will follow today. We have all had time during the COVID-19 pandemic to reflect on our personal pathway-where we are and where we are going. In this reflection, I outline five steps on my pathway to success: Train with the best. Discover something. Mentor others. Go beyond. Promote science. I will provide examples from my personal journey that I hope will resonate with the reader as they create their pathway to success.
